Join writer Maria Fusco for a reading and discussion on her recent book on working-classness

Hear from award-winning working-class writer Maria Fusco, who will be reading from her recent book Who does not envy with us is against us. This will be followed by a discussion with fellow working-class writer Mike Pinnington, co-founder and editor of The Double Negative.

Fusco’s book is a collection of essays on working-classness, capturing experiences and emotions that unite people across the world. She pays tribute to the resilience and tenacity of these communities, inviting readers to join in a deeper understanding of their struggles and triumphs.

Maria Fusco

Maria Fusco is a writer, born in Belfast and living in Scotland. Her interdisciplinary work spans the registers of critical, fiction and performance writing. Her work has been commissioned by bodies including: Artangel, BBC Radio 4, National Theatre Wales and supported by Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and the Royal Opera House. She is currently Professor of Interdisciplinary Writing at the University of Dundee, previously holding posts at the University of Edinburgh and Goldsmiths, University of London.

Mike Pinnington

Co-founder of The Double Negative, Mike Pinnington is a writer and editor based in Liverpool.

Tate Liverpool is temporarily located at RIBA North, Mann Island, a short distance (425m) along Liverpool’s iconic waterfront. There is step free access to the main entrance. There is a lift to the first floor gallery, or alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Toilets are located on the first floor
  • The nearest Changing Places toilet is located at the Museum of Liverpool
  • Ear defenders are available to borrow. Please ask a Visitor Engagement Assistant

Additional seating is also available. Please ask a member of staff if you require assistance.
