Leverett Crafts and Arts is a large historic building in the center of the lovely rural town of Leverett, Massachusetts. The basement floor houses a vibrant community pottery center which focuses on instruction for people of all ages in all aspects of working with clay, mudpiepotters.org
The first and second floors contain close to 20 studios which are rented by artists and craftspersons working and teaching in a wide variety of media: potters, painters, sculptors, artists who craft jewelry and glass, silk screen and botanical prints, a welder, fabric artists… an ever changing dynamic mix of diverse people.
There is also a classroom with a sink, coffee-maker, tables and chairs for meetings or workshops, which can also be cleared out for open floor demonstrations. This classroom can be rented by the hour or by the day.
The main exhibit space at the LCA is the Barnes Gallery, a large and lovely room perfect for functions as well as large art exhibits. Our secondary exhibit/function space is known as the Hall Gallery, perfect for smaller shows.
The mission of the Leverett Crafts and Arts organization is to offer studio space for long term and emerging artists at an affordable price. Education through the organization and studio holders brings creative ideas and energy to the community. The Barnes Gallery offers space for exhibitions, shows, events, and sales. Founded in 1966 the LCA is a nonprofit organization that has helped emerging artists get a start and offers artists the opportunity to express their creativity in a beautiful setting.
